Viewing Preferences

For optimum viewing pleasure, and to see this page in the manner in which it was intended to be seen by the Web Designer, please note the following:

All Web pages designed by Tek FX Web Design, a division of The Capitalist Pig LLC, are designed to be viewed by a SVGA monitor set at 800 x 600. If elements on the Web page are not "lined up", or you are experiencing other layout or design problems, please check your video card settings in the Control Panel/Display area of your Windows PC for the appropriate settings.

To change your display settings:

  1. Copy your win.ini and system.ini files in your Windows directory to a backup directory, and make sure you have a complete, current backup of all files on your computer before making any changes.
  2. In Windows 95, click Start, then select Settings, Control Panel.
  3. In the Control Panel, select Display/Settings.
  4. Preferred settings in Color Palette are True Color 32 bit, and Desktop Area should be 800 x 600 pixels.

The video card in your computer may not accommodate 32 bit color, so select the highest color setting available that will maintain the 800 x 600 pixel setting. You may need to reboot your computer.

Please use Netscape Navigator v 3.0 or greater, or use Microsoft Internet Explorer v 3.0 or greater to view our designs. We cannot be held responsible for design/layout anomalies (something different, abnormal, peculiar, or not easily classified) if other Web browsers are used to view our pages.

Using the above settings and the appropriate Web browser, all pages designed by our Web Design team should be able to be seen appropriately. The steps outlined above to change your display settings are general instructions only. Your computer may not have the appropriate video drivers loaded on your system, and other factors may apply so as not to allow these instructions to work properly on your computer. The Capitalist Pig is not responsible for any problems you may encounter while attempting to change your video display settings. Copying your win.ini and system.ini files back into Windows after an attempt to change settings will also reset things back to the settings you were using before you attempted the change. If in doubt about changing your settings, you may also contact a computer professional for assistance.

Digression complete. Return to Home Page.
