WINEMAKING YEASTS


ALL OF THESE YEASTS HAVE BEEN ACCLIMATIZED TO SULFUR DIOXIDE DURING PRODUCTION AND WILL FERMENT VIGOROUSLY IN THE PRESENCE OF 100 ppm OF SULFUR DIOXIDE. PACKED IN NITROGEN FILLED PACKETS TO INCREASE THEIR SHELF LIFE.

A FEW WORDS ABOUT FERMENTATION TEMPERATURES: You will have a better fermentation at a constant 70 to 78 degrees. Temperatures out of this range can cause problems. Extended periods above 78 degrees can hurt the flavor and kill the yeast. Temperatures lower than 7 degrees will slow the yeasts activity, and if cold enough, stop fermentation completely. It is a good idea to monitor the temperature during fermentation. One of our thermometers is strongly recommended.

MONTRACHET WINE YEAST (All Purpose)

This Neutral Flavor Active Dry Winery Yeast is now being used by many major wineries in the United States. Whether making wines from Fruit, Berries, Flowers, Vegetables or Grapes, you will not find a wine yeast that will give a firmer sediment, a higher alcohol content or produce a finer flavored wine. This yeast needs no prior starting. It can be added directly to the juice. Fermentation will start in a short while. Each package is enough for 5 gallons of wine.

DISTILLERS YEAST

Used to produce higher alcohol levels when fermenting grains and other starches. Has a high tolerance to alcohol. Produces higher levels of starch converting enzymes than most yeasts. This yeast is well suited for mashes that are going to be distilled. Usually not used for regular wines and beers.

    A special mix of 14 different foods and nutrients. Designed specifically to pre-start our liquid and dried wine yeasts at an accelerated pace.
